Venue and Location


The conference venue is Waseda University International Conference Center (WICC) which is situated on the main campus of Waseda University in Shinjuku City. Shinjuku is one of the major centers of the downtown Tokyo area housing the headquarter of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Waseda University, founded in 1882, is one of the oldest and the most prestigious private universities in Japan with a proud history of its own. It consists of 35 under and post graduate schools, 14 research institutes, and 2 museums with 44,000 undergraduate and 9,000 graduate students including 5,400
students originating from foreign countries.


WICC is located within a walking distance from Tokyo-Metro (Subway) Waseda Station and about 3 km northeast of the Japan Railways (JR) Shinjuku Station. The Shinjuku Station is accessible by either trains or airport limousine buses from the New Tokyo International (Narita) Airport and Tokyo International (Haneda) Airport within 1.5 hours and 1 hour, respectively.

Spring is the best time of year to visit Tokyo with pleasant mild weather and the magical cherry blossoms season “sakura” from late March to mid-April. The high and low temperatures will be around 20°C to 10°C respectively and occasional rain may be expected.
